Angela Carter (Angie)
Admission Counselor/UM Specialist – First Responders Specialist
Angie joined Bayside Marin in early 2017. She brings a diverse and unique set of experiences to her work helping recovering persons and their families. Angie had a long career in law enforcement where she started out as a 911 dispatcher; certified in critical incidents and EMD-(Emergency Medical Dispatching), followed by a career as a Police Officer. As a police officer, not only did she work patrol, but she worked closely with her community. After her career in Law Enforcement, she went back to school to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sonoma State University. Because of her background, Angie relates on a personal level with recovering persons, with a specific understanding of issues unique to First Responders. She is particularly skilled at helping individuals feel comfortable talking with her about sensitive areas such as their alcohol or drug use, a history of trauma or PTSD, depression, or anxiety.
