Angela Porter, LMFT, CATC
Angela is an addiction treatment specialist, and somatic therapist specializing in group practice, and work with other therapists. Trained in Gestalt, body-centered, and Somatic Therapy at Esalen Institute, and Counseling Psychology at Berkeley’s Wright Institute, facilitating the connection between body and mind is central to her psychotherapy work. Formerly a program director at the New Bridge Foundation’s residential substance abuse treatment program in Berkeley CA, Angela incorporated the somatic practice of Breema and body centered meditation into her treatment curriculum with great benefit to her clients. Currently she is a group facilitator at Bayside Marin’s substance abuse treatment program in San Rafael, maintains a private therapy practice, and travels internationally teaching Breema workshops for therapists, MDs, nurses, midwives, teachers, and other healing professionals. She has worked in the field of recovery since 1991.
