Frank Head, AMFT, PhD Candidate

Veteran’s Clinical Program Manager

Frank joined Bayside’s Clinical Team in January of 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a specialization in forensics from Florida Institute of Technology, and a Master of Science Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Northcentral University. Presently, Frank is completing his thesis to earn a Ph.D. in Psychology specializing in trauma and disaster relief from Northcentral University.

After 2 proud decades of service with the United States Marine Corps, Frank retired to Southern California where he worked with U.S. Vets Orange County, helping Veterans re-enter civilian life after finishing their tour of duty. From there he transitioned into private practice and intensive outpatient programs in Hawaii where he counseled teenagers and adults transitioning back to society post-incarceration, as well as their partners and families.

In his current role as Veteran Services Program Manager for Bayside, Frank employs a litany of therapeutic techniques including Mindfulness, Solution-focused therapy, Narrative Approach, and Motivational Interviewing, to foster the changes necessary for sustained recovery. By understanding their unique needs, he helps Veterans successfully integrate into their lives as civilians while simultaneously working towards long-term sobriety. Due to his military background, Frank understands that trauma presents differently for this population and the treatment needed to facilitate sustained recovery must be tailored to the challenges they faced in serving their country.

Born and raised in Griffin, Georgia, Frank enjoys music, comedy shows, and creating new experiences and relationships wherever and whenever he can. As a transplant to the Bay Area, he also enjoys going out and about with his son to explore everything Northern California has to offer.
