Anjelica Martinez, AMFT

Therapist

Anjelica Martinez joined the Bayside clinical team as a therapist in October of 2024 after spending the last 4 years serving folks in primary substance residential programs, including Bayside Marin’s sister facility, Azure Acres. She has spent many years in service of community members in various roles, fueling her passion for being a tool for change for those she has served. Anjelica believes in equitable care for all, and seeks to be an affirming therapist for those who are a part of disenfranchised and marginalized communities.

Anjelica began her career 9+ years ago in 2015 while receiving her BA in psychology at Sonoma State University. She first worked as a counselor in residential treatment at the Progress Foundation, supporting adults living with severe mental illness; concurrently, Anjelica also interned with Forget Me Not Farm, a nonprofit organization in service of youth who have experienced trauma and abuse. She began to discover that working with people at every stage of their healing process brought her a sense of fulfillment, which led her to pursue a career as a psychotherapist. Anjelica received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University in 2023 to pursue licensure as a marriage and family therapist. While in her studies, Anjelica continued to work with nonprofits and county programs in California including Turning Point Community Programs, Stanislaus Recovery Center, and Center for Human Services. Every opportunity inspired her to continue working with people who are underserved by behavioral health resources.

Anjelica strives to support folks in bridging the gap between understanding their mental health as it relates to their substance use, as a means to heal and change. In her free time Anjelica enjoys visiting family, spending time in nature, and being in the comfort of her home engaging in restful self-care.
